clenspy.survey.survey.survey_bins(name_or_config)[source]

The \((\Delta\lambda_i, \Delta z_j)\) grid from a config.

Parameters:

name_or_config (str or dict) – A config name, or an already-loaded config dict.

Returns:

  • BinCollection – n_lam * n_z bins in richness-outer order.

  • NOTE (bins are **observed* richness and observed photometric*)

  • redshift. The photo-z kernel that maps a true redshift into

  • \(\Delta z_j\) uses \(\sigma_z\), which is why the scatter

  • travels on the bin (~clenspy.utils.RichnessBin) and not on the

  • Survey.
